Chi Town – by Emily McGuire (Australia)

Hello to you blog reading people. I had plans to take photos all week, of course it slipped my mind. Then it was Sunday night and I was without photos. So I went through my large collection and found some that I took in Chicago when I was in the USA. I LOVED Chicago – I was only there for a short time, but we did an architectural cruise and I just loved learning about the city from the water. I would do it again if I went back. So here are some photos I took on the cruise – hope you enjoy 🙂 chicago4

Small town – New South Wales, Australia by Emily McGuire

Morpeth is a town near Maitland in the Hunter Valley in New South Wales. It is known for its jazz festivals, quirky shops and gorgeous old buildings. It is situated near the Hunter River and I spent many days on the river at Morpeth with my family on our boat. It brings back great memories to go back there to visit. Today I went there and took a few photos to share. I hope you enjoy them and a big happy new year to everyone!
Check out my photos on my blog: http://www.sylimephotos.wordpress.com

(Click on the photos to make them bigger)

IMG_1732 Normally Morpeth is bustling with people, but I went late in the day, so it was very quiet (quiet enough to stand in the middle of the road to take this photo)

IMG_1708 This building (barn) is not technically IN Morpeth, but I still love it. I have driven past it about two million times (I am rounding up) and I have ALWAYS ALWAYS wanted to stop and take a photo but I never got around to it, until today.

IMG_1717-2 I seem to find myself drawn to old, gorgeous houses in this area. They are so magnificent.. They do not build them like this any more, sadly.

IMG_1721  Again with the old fashioned things you never see any more. A red phone box. It doesn’t seem to have a phone in it (I didn’t actually look that close inside). But it is just beautiful. (I feel I may live in the wrong era!)

Goodbye Australia by Emily McGuire

I am about to embark on a massive adventure – packing up all my things (cats included) and moving to the other side of the world. I do believe this will be my last blog post from Australia. So I am sharing with you the one thing I will miss the most about this place – – the beach. I know I have shared beach photos before, but these ones aren’t the same ones 🙂

All photos were taken in either Newcastle or Forster in New South Wales and there is one from Hervey Bay in Queensland. I hope you enjoy and do visit my personal blog – http://www.sylimephotos.wordpress.com ( which I shall be updating in the coming weeks – and on a very regular basis)

Here and There – USA, UK, Australia by Emily McGuire

Again I am running behind in posting. Again, I feel like I am stuggling to find photos to post as I haven’t had the time to go out and take new photos. So today I am sharing a selection of different photos I took a while ago. Please enjoy and if you want to see my other photos please visit http://www.sylimephotos.wordpress.com

Next month I promise to have brand new photos to share 🙂

Queensland, Australia By Emily McGuire

It was my intent to go out today and take some magnificent photos. Of course I wasn’t able to (such is life), so I have decided to go back and share the photos I took when I lived in Hervey Bay, Queensland. I hope you all enjoy them and please, go look at my other photos on my blog – http://www.sylimephotos.wordpress.com

The photo above is where I used to walk my dogs every day. It was very pretty, the water was really warm (which I did not like, but I was in Queensland, I learned to accept it). This place was called Dayman Point.

The above photo was taken at the Hervey Bay Marina. There were houses all along here, I always wanted to live there. 🙂

The above photo was taken at Urangan Pier. I loved this pier. At high tide you could not walk under it as the water came right up under it (at low tide though you could walk out on the sand, through puddles of water,  for almost a kilometre, which I always found freaky).
