Athens in the cold by Nektaria Markaki

If there’s something that I love, is taking a stroll around the city when it’s cold. Yes, I know, you might think that I am crazy but there’s something refreshing about walking in the cold… and Athens is still wearing its colorful attire, still in celebrating mode with its christmas lights still lit! Here are some of the photos I took, and I liked- trust me my hand was shaking like amd from the cold- and I do hope you like them too!

Sydney Australia by Emily McGuire

Yesterday I went to Sydney for the day. I didn’t venture from Circular Quay and around Opera House (I had things to do in that area). I took some photos to share though.
Sydney Harbour is beautiful. No matter how many times I have seen it (and it has been a lot), I am still amazed by how pretty it is. I also love the ferries – Circular Quay is obviously a great place to sit and watch them. And of course, who could forget the Sydney Harbour bridge?

I hope you enjoy the photos below.

Chi Town – by Emily McGuire (Australia)

Hello to you blog reading people. I had plans to take photos all week, of course it slipped my mind. Then it was Sunday night and I was without photos. So I went through my large collection and found some that I took in Chicago when I was in the USA. I LOVED Chicago – I was only there for a short time, but we did an architectural cruise and I just loved learning about the city from the water. I would do it again if I went back. So here are some photos I took on the cruise – hope you enjoy 🙂 chicago4

Hello Again from Newcastle, NSW Australia by Emily McGuire

Well, here I am after a long break – it is nice to be back. I haven’t taken photos with my camera since I last posted here. So it will be nice to get back into it and  have some fun! Today I am sharing some photos of the beach – it is what I love the most.
I hope you enjoy them.

These boys above were waiting for the waves to crash over them. The swell was quite high that day and they had to hang on tight so they weren’t washed into the ocean pool that is behind them. Such fun!

Bay and Ocean – Australia. By Emily McGuire

I recently went to Tanilba Bay in Port Stephens (NSW, Australia) and I took a few photos. I will be sharing those today. I also took some photos of Newcastle Beach area – which is where I seem to go whenever I feel sad (or mad or any other emotion you can think of).
I am late posting these this week as I have had major computer issues, but I have sorted that all out, thankfully.
Hope you enjoy the photos and do go over to my blog and check it out. http://www.sylimephotos.wordpress..com – – until next time….

IMG_2127    Newcastle beach (well, the beach is to the right. I was standing near the Canoe Pool (it fills with ocean water and people take their kids to swim in it. I used to swim in it when I was a child) and the ocean is beyond the chains.

Cats x 5 by Emily McGuire

I have five cats (long story). I adore them all and I want to share some photos I took of them this weekend. Hope you enjoy. Check out my blog http://www.sylimephotos.wordpress.com and my redbubble page (where I am selling prints) http://www.redbubble.com/people/sylime

IMG_1919 This is Henry – three years old and cute as a button. He looks extremely chubby sitting like this, but he is just sitting funny

IMG_1928 This is my sweet Kitski. She has lived with me for 13 years (no idea how old she is as she was a stray) and she is very sick right now with cancer that is spreading rapidly. She is the most adorable girl and I will be so sad to lose her.

IMG_1995 Cooper – almost seven years old. He is such a sweetheart. I just adore him.

IMG_2005  Watson – he is three years old and I really love photographing him. Mainly because he actually lets me (the others turn away a lot of the time) but he has great eyes and markings.

IMG_2021  I love this photo of Watson, I had to add it. Something was going on outside and he was less than impressed. (he was sitting on me when I took this photo)

IMG_2040 Little miss Scout. She has no ears in this photo, but she is still v cute. She has an amazingly cute personality and she makes me laugh every day. 🙂

Hope you enjoyed.

Small town – New South Wales, Australia by Emily McGuire

Morpeth is a town near Maitland in the Hunter Valley in New South Wales. It is known for its jazz festivals, quirky shops and gorgeous old buildings. It is situated near the Hunter River and I spent many days on the river at Morpeth with my family on our boat. It brings back great memories to go back there to visit. Today I went there and took a few photos to share. I hope you enjoy them and a big happy new year to everyone!
Check out my photos on my blog: http://www.sylimephotos.wordpress.com

(Click on the photos to make them bigger)

IMG_1732 Normally Morpeth is bustling with people, but I went late in the day, so it was very quiet (quiet enough to stand in the middle of the road to take this photo)

IMG_1708 This building (barn) is not technically IN Morpeth, but I still love it. I have driven past it about two million times (I am rounding up) and I have ALWAYS ALWAYS wanted to stop and take a photo but I never got around to it, until today.

IMG_1717-2 I seem to find myself drawn to old, gorgeous houses in this area. They are so magnificent.. They do not build them like this any more, sadly.

IMG_1721  Again with the old fashioned things you never see any more. A red phone box. It doesn’t seem to have a phone in it (I didn’t actually look that close inside). But it is just beautiful. (I feel I may live in the wrong era!)

Goodbye Australia by Emily McGuire

I am about to embark on a massive adventure – packing up all my things (cats included) and moving to the other side of the world. I do believe this will be my last blog post from Australia. So I am sharing with you the one thing I will miss the most about this place – – the beach. I know I have shared beach photos before, but these ones aren’t the same ones 🙂

All photos were taken in either Newcastle or Forster in New South Wales and there is one from Hervey Bay in Queensland. I hope you enjoy and do visit my personal blog – http://www.sylimephotos.wordpress.com ( which I shall be updating in the coming weeks – and on a very regular basis)

New York City by Emily McGuire

I have spent some time in New York City and I love it. I love everything about it – the busy streets, the hustle and bustle, but mainly I love the buildings. I think perhaps I was an architect in another life. I just have a fascination about buildings. So my photos today are of the buildings I saw in New York City. You won’t see the typical ones you would expect to (Empire State, Chrysler, Flatiron buildings) these are just regular ones I saw on my journeys.
Please enjoy and be sure to visit my blog –
